January Madness Recap

I can't believe today is the end of January! New year seems like yesterday and tomorrow we will face the second month of 2016. For me, January is all about detox, workout, and friendship. It's been a great month so far and I was thinking to make a monthly madness recap on my blog by the end of the month. Let's get back to what happened in January. As I said on my previous post, the first month of 2016 should be full of detox. What happened in 2015 have to stay in 2015, it's time to tossed away every toxic in your life and January help me did those things.

Green juice is my best friend and I tried to workout as much as I can. It feels good to feel stronger after a sweaty body combat and cardio still on top of my list.

Squad Goals. Surround yourself with positive people and you will live a happy life! That's true. I feel like this month I have so much fun with my friends. We went out for some nice food, talked about our crazy life, making fun of someone we hate because apparently we all hate a same person, and after all we had too much laugh. I'm really grateful I could always had a good times with old friends, new friends, and co-workers. I also make some new friends this month which is surprisingly because I knew them from unexpected places and they always make my day even better.

Work and project. January is about planning. As you might know, I work as Social Media Specialist and I also have some side project such as fashion business and music thingy. I've been really busy in the past few months and I feel like I can't manage my side project. So this month is all about plan and plan. If you haven't write any plan for anything that you want to chase this year, you better start now! Dreams wouldn't come true over night, so write down on your journal and make some plan about it.

Trip. Work hard is a must but you also need vacation. I have a few plan for some weekend getaway and to make it come true, January should be a month to manage everything so we don't need to worry about what would happen on the next month and so on.

Treat Yourself. After detox and workout, of course we all need to have a day off and get a nice snack once in a while. The day I have too much to do at work is the day I need to have something like chocolate or a frappuccino.

Kahlua. By the end of the day, what's your favorite drink? My favorite is Kahlua. You've been work really hard this month and you deserve your favorite drink.

Justin Bieber? Wait what? I'm not Belieber but I should confess that I love some of his songs from his new album. I love Skrillex and I think they make a great collaboration. But the song that I love the most is Love Yourself. Well, no surprise because apparently Ed Sheeran involve in this song and I fell in love with the lyrics! I feel like I need to shout those lyrics out loud and that's why I posted a song cover of Love Yourself. Feel free to check it out:
https://soundcloud.com/dian-permata-putri/justin-bieber-love-yourself-cover-by-dian-permata-putri

That's how my January madness. It was great! Nothing much about fashion though because I haven't attend any fashion event this month. But January left me with some great moment with so many surprise.

What's your favorite January moment?

5 Fun Things To Do This October

Cats Sweater // Korean Brand
Short // Etienne Aigner
Sneakers // New Look
Purple Bag // Charles & Keith

I know it's the second week of October but it's not too late to make plans for this month! October is one of my favorite month because it's time for Halloween. I'm always a little bit exciting if it comes to spooky stuff and one of my favorite thing is to choose a Halloween costume. But there are tons of things that I want to do this October and maybe you could do it too to spark this month a little bit. Let's start with...........................................

1. Try a new look
You could try a new style for your wardrobe or maybe chop your hair a little bit, This time, I decide to chopped my hair (I'll show you the result on my next post). I love my long hair but it's been too long I haven't change it.

2. Read some new book
Inspire yourself! There are a bunch of books and  it could inspire your career life, love life, and everything. Every month is a good month to make a book list to read. By the end of the month it might surprise you of how all those books could inspired your life.

3. Catch up with TV Series
I know I'm not the only one whose really exciting about this month. The Walking Dead, The Flash and American Horror Story are back! Did you watch those series? Those are my favorite. The second season premiere of The Flash is getting me so emotional. Move to the first episode of American Horror Story: Hotel, it's pretty creepy and Lady Gaga is totally nailed it. And tomorrow is the new season of The Walking Dead, could I be any more exciting? YES!

4. Find a way to enjoy your daily activity
I live with a tight deadline, demanding client, and sometimes with a hectic situation. I love my job but of course daily activity could make you tired and bored sometimes. Try to wake up every morning with a nice breakfast, take a detour to work so you could always find something interesting that you wouldn't expect before, a cup of green tea before you start to work, and good music! That's the key to enjoy everything that you do.

5. Write down your happy moment at the end of the week
On Sunday, you could try to write every happy moment that happened to you from Monday - Sunday. It might surprise you because sometimes we didn't realize how much we felt happy with every little things that happened in our life. Be grateful and maybe next week you will get a better week.

Down But Not Out: Things You Need To Do If You Have Frenemy

Cross Keys T-Shirt // DBNO
Shorts // Etcetera
Vans Era Leopard Black True White // Vans

Reppin' my favorite DBNO T-shirt and I go really casual today, back to basic! I'm sure you all knew this clothing line owned by Josh Franceschi from You Me At Six I love his band and I love how he named his clothing line, Down But Not Out. That's some kind of feelings that remind me of my frenemy. Do you ever have a frenemy? Someone who really is a friend but also a rival. Well, I have a frenemy. The question is: Should we keep them as a friend? The best answer would be leave them because it's really exhausting to have a frenemy. It's like we have to pretend we like each others while actually we really don't like each others, heard them say a lot of mean things when you're with your friends and your frenemy also happened to be there. But sometimes, there's a reason why you still keep them. Most reason of why we still keep our frenemy is both of you have a mutual friends. This is a very uncomfortable situation. And if you can't get rid of your frenemy, it's not the end of the world. You could set your goal to be a better person, better life, and don't you ever waste your energy to hate on them.

When my frenemy hurt my feelings, I'm down but not out. (Now you could see my point of wearing my DBNO t-shirt on this post). It hurts but I don't wanna waste my time to hate her or make a secret poison for her, I promise to myself that I will be way much better than her. I will be twice successful as her and I will be a person that I really want to be. When I was thinking about this.. it makes me focus to chase my dreams, not to make her jealous but to make myself better. Anybody could bring you down but you're the one who could step up your game. I'm glad because after a few months I have 3 jobs that I love, I have a lot of friends, I put bandage on every part of my life that I need to fix. And that's how you won the awkward war with your frenemy! You will laugh back to the day when she hurt your feelings and now you have a good life and she's no better than you. No need to fight with them, be fabulous and say sorry to your frenemy if your back hurt their knife.

If you have a frenemy, share your story with me! It would be great to hear what you all dealing with it.

Tropical Runway

Blue Kimono // Made by Order
Short Pants // Forever 21
Sneakers Wedges // New Look
Salem Bag // Elle

It's been a busy week and I'm glad I have a long weekend because today is Indonesia Independence Day! So yesterday, my friends and I went to Market & Museum at Lippo Mall Kemang, Jakarta. It's a fashion and food event with a lot of local brands, food truck, and so many delicious food. This time, their theme is Tropical Runway. And the sun in Jakarta isn't playing it cool, it was extremely hot and I know that's the best time for hair bun.

The first booth that I chose is Pooki Bbang, Korean Poop Bread. That poop isn't belong in the toilet, the poop bread is belong for my tummy (well okay, why this sounds disguisting). It taste like waffle though, in a shape of poop with Nutella filling and it taste so delicious. Second stop is ice cream with bumblebee nests as the topping. Unfortunately I didn't take a picture because the ice cream is melt so fast (as I mention earlier, the crazy hot weather). Our third stop is Fried Mushroom with BBQ sauce and once again I didn't take the picture, this time because it seems so tempting and I can't wait to eat it.

We didn't end our journey right there! I feel like I really need to write this down because this situation is the winner of the day. On the evening we're looking for a good place to drink and we drive around without knowing where we heading. We decide to go around Senopati and we drive in a wrong way which is one way! We feels like we re-creating a scene from Ant-Man movie where Luis and the crew back it up their van and was like "Back it up bro, back it up. Back it slooow...back it up." If you seen the movie, you should've know what I mean. And yes, in the car we're like back it up broo back it up slooow. I know it's funnier when you see it by yourself but trust me it was hilarious.

So finally we're stopped by at Pong Me to have a drink and pizza. And they also have a ping pong table so we all play there. I was thinking maybe this post makes you wonder that we ate a lot of food for a whole day and why our tummy is never full. I never know the answer, maybe because we just love to eat and try new food in town.

5 Style Essentials To Save Your Day

Boys Tank Top & Fedora // H&M
Black Jeans Shorts // Etienne Aigner
Grey Outer // Gaudi
Sneakers Wedges // New Look
Tiger Bag // Kenzo

es·sen·tial
əˈsen(t)SHəl/
noun
plural noun: essentials

a thing that is absolutely necessary.

I'm sure everyone has their own style essentials. Stuff that you always need to wear everyday until you didn't realize those stuff become your authentic style. It's not about trends because it's not seasonal. You could wear it everyday or it could save you from those kind of day when you can't decide which clothes that you should wear today. Beside, it's a necessary stuff but it could keep you in style. For me, my style essentials could help me through the day, wearing on my emergency style alert and that's why it's essentials. This is my top list of my style essentials:

Watch
I never go out without my watch. I don't like being late, I need it to know what time is it to catch up with the train schedule or something and I also like to wear something around my wrist. I wear a watch since I was a kid. I used to wear Guess and in the past few years I wear Juicy Couture watch collection. I love their design, totally authentic with their logo and charms. If you could choose a great watch, it would be looks so much better than some bracelet on your wrist. It would keep you on time and you will never go out of style with it. I rarely bought a watch because I always choose a great one that I know I will like it for the next 5 years or more. Currently, Ted Baker watch collection stole my attention. I really love their design and as soon as I saw it, I add it to my shopping wishlist. The great part is Ted Baker watch collection available on Zalora and that would make it easier for me to buy it.

Hat
Fedora is my favorite. Why hat could be a style essentials? Because you could hide your bad hair day but nobody knows because you look fashionable with those hat. If you want a simple street style you could choose a beanie or even snapback. You will never know when you will have a bad hair day, so be prepare.

Basic T-Shirt
I never think this is essentials until I can't match my galaxy skirt. I have too much printing t-shirt and I just realize that I really need a basic t-shirt. You don't have to buy every colors to match your wardrobe. The most important thing is black and white, so it would be easier for you to combine with everything.

Stiletto Heel
I'm one of those girl who's not really into stiletto heel and recently I find out that I really need it. When I want to go to my friend's wedding, I was pretty surprise that I owned ankle boots, platform shoes, sneakers, sneakers wedges and more sneakers. Where's my stiletto heels? Don't let this thing happen to you. Stiletto heel is really match with almost every dress that you own, so yes.. you really need it.

Outer/Jacket
If I don't have much time to style myself when I'm about to go out, I always pick a tanktop or t-shirt and mix it with a long black outer or a jacket. Because a simple shirt could looks cooler if you add a nice outer.

That's the top list of my style essentials. So if you're planning to have a short shopping list, make sure you buy something that you will always need and you could wear it anytime for most of your occasion. I wonder if I miss something on my list, you all so welcome to tell me: What's your style essentials? Maybe I could add it to my list.

Current Obsession: Ant-Man

Shirt Dress // Zara
Sneakers Wedges // New Look
Salem Bag // Elle

I think this is the best time for me to write about Current Obsession and in this case, my current obsession is Ant-Man. Everyone has a different obsession and you can't judge their obsession. Even though their obsession sounds a little weird for you but I'm sure everyone has a reason for their obsession. I have a reason as well. I've been waiting for Ant-Man movie for God knows how long. To be honest at first I have some thoughts that this movie could be silly or it could be totally awesome, there's no in between. But since I found out that Paul Rudd would be Scott Lang, I'm 100% sure this movie would be rad. And I end up watching this movie twice in the cinema.
First of all, it's a Marvel movie and Paul Rudd is a superhero. From the very first scene, I feel like a 10 years old who finally could see her superhero right in front of her eyes. And they brought us to the prison scene, BAM close up Paul Rudd on the very big screen and remember when Scott is walk out from the prison and met Luis? Thanks God I didn't jump to the seat in front of me to give Scott a hug (because it's IMAX, you know what I mean.. the effect). My next thought for the scene when Scott is believe himself that it would be easy for him to get a job and then "Welcome to Baskin Robbins", that's how I know this movie would have Paul Rudd vibes or let's say hilarious. By the end of the movie, I always said 'Awesome... I need to watch it again). And for second times I watched it on IMAX which is I fully recommend to watch it there.

My next stop would be Captain America: Civil War and I have to wait until 2016. Ant-Man and Iron Man would be there, could I be any more exciting? My inner nerds is really obvious when Marvel movies is coming. But obsessed over something could make our life a little bit more exciting, I guess. As long it doesn't bother your work or something. Sometimes daily life could be so bored, like you have to wake up every morning, you have to workout, and start your job. And there goes your obsession over something, it could entertained you a little bit. It makes everything seems a little more exciting.

Lost In Thought

Blue Shirt // Gaudi
Crop Tank // H&M
Sneakers Wedges // H&M
Black Pants // Topshop
Bag // Kenzo

Where your inspiration go? Working on a creative industry means that you need to be creative all the time. As entrepreneur, I need to grow my creativity, get a lot of ideas, and maintain a lot of things in the process. But what if I'm stuck and I don't have any idea at all? Well, we all human and I'm sure we've been through those position before whether you work as an entrepreneur, 9-5 job, or even at school. But as I learned on my 20s: Never let "Lack of Idea" drag you down. Because when you let it, you will go down to a rabbit hole. Here's what I do when I'm running out of idea:

Don't push yourself to get an idea. I've got that advance from my favorite designer, Tex Saverio when I asked him about it and I realize that's totally true. First of all, you can't sit and try to think like a maniac to get an idea for your work. Sit and stare in front of your computer wouldn't inspire you. Relax and do something that would make you feel less panic so you wouldn't freak out with the deadline.

Take your notebook to a coffee shop. Since I was in college, I like to write my thesis at a coffee shop. Since I have a home office and I'm running out of ideas, I like to bring my notebook and get my work done at a coffee shop. Observe people, a nice smell from a coffee shop, have a nice drink could give me any inspiration.

Walk in a park. I don't do it on my working hours of course, but I do it on my spare times. Walk alone in a good weather and you have a time to think in a better mood. That will do.

Read some books and watch movies. This is also what you should do in your spare times. When I have a day off or really stuck with my ideas, book is always helps. Or browsing the internet, gosh you have google wherever you go d'uh! And I found that watching movies always give me so many inspiration. Sometimes it could be a motivation as well. I could spend hours and hours watching Judd Apatow movies. Believe me, good laugh could make your brain works better.

Put on some good music. I have my own playlist to brighten up my mood. Working is so much fun if you have some good music that you could listen. I have my favorite playlist and I just posted on Instagram, in case you want to check it out (@deeisdian). I'm sure you will find a song that you knew because my playlist is a mix of 70's, 80's, 90's and even music from the present. Yeah I know I have a weird playlist but I love it.

Look at your role model. Get inspired from your idol. That will push you to get better and also to make you work even harder to achieve what you want.

Set your goals. Write down your goals and if you're running a business, write a business plan. When I was younger I thought this isn't important but I was extremely wrong. When you set your goals and write down your plan, you will know how to do next because you know where you're about to go. You could find a way to solve your problem easier.

That's what I usually do. And if you still failed to get an idea, keep calm because there will always be a plan b, plan c until plan z. you just have to hang on and you will achieve your goals.

March Madness Recap

1. Blogger at Indonesian Fashion Week 2015.
Having so much fun blogging for Indonesian Fashion Week 2015. Snap a lot of photos at the Fashion Show, tried to eat super fast on the food truck because we have to catch up to the next fashion show and running back and forth with 13 inch ankle boots, ain't it fun?

2. Kue Cubit Experience
Helping my mom to start her food business, modern kue cubit (traditional snack from Indonesia, if you translate it: pinch cake). Before she try to make it, we went to a lot of fancy kue cubit places as a research and for my tummy pleassure. Red Velvet kue cubit is the best and I kinda like the bubblegum flavour too.

3. Got a Friendship ring & necklace
Finally reunite with my best friends from college after almost a year. We bought ourselves a friendship ring and necklace as we went to Cibubur together for a weekend getaway.

4. One Direction came to Indonesia
I have a huge crush on Louis Tomlinson & like their songs but to be honest I wasn't a huge fan until they went to Jakarta. It started on my clothing line twitter when I defend a lot of Directioners who can't meet them because the hide and seek drama with the music promoters. I didn't realize I drag myself to the fandom and love them even more and more and more, cause I can love you more than this! hahaha. And march is also the biggest One Direction drama of all time, here's the summary:
- Louis broke up
- Zayn cheating rumors
- Zayn didn't make it to Jakarta
- Zayn leaving 1D
- Louis slay Naughtyboy (Hail to Louis!)
- Zayn new single with Naughtyboy
- Someone throw a lightstick and hit Harry in the eye (This should be part of the tragic story too)
The funniest thing is after all those tragic things, I love them even more! #sorrynotsorry

5. Selling In The Park
My friend and I embrace our entrepreneur spirit at the park. Selling vintage goods and kue cubit green tea! It was so fun and we also visit a group of women's house to sell the clothes and we sold a lot of stuff. They spent a lot of cash for our stuff and they are also so nice.

Well, that's the summary of my march madness. I wish April would be a better month!

How To Survive The Jinx Festival

Almost done with the first month of 2015. To be honest, this is not my favorite month because January turns out to be a jinx. So I'm pretty glad that January is almost over and I'm gonna focus on my resolutions. Have you ever watch "Alexander and The Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day" movie? I love that movie because my January could really relate to that movie. Yes we have those terrible day but so what? You have a chance to make your day better and even on your worst day, you could always find a very small things which could make you cheer up. That's why if life gives you a lemon, baked a lemon cupcake!

But how to survive from the terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day? This is my survival kit for January and I hope these could help you to survive with those kind of day.

1. Go Crying While Listening To Your Favorite Music Out Loud
I rarely cry, especially in front of anyone. But no matter how tough you are, it's okay to cry alone in your room because as soon you let it out, you will feel that actually your failure on your bad day is not that bad. And I'm sure music is the best way to make you feel better. Try listen to Drown by Bring Me The Horizon or Save Me by Avenged Sevenfold. Those songs always on my playlist and it always make me feel better.

2. Surfing on The Internet and Find Something Funny
This is totally work! Once you find a bunch of funny post, you will forget that you have a terrible day. I suggest you to see 9gag, Buzzfeed, and Tumblr.

3. Have A Coffee and Sweet Dessert Alone
Why alone? Because when you're mad or sad, that means world doesn't treat you right. And who's gonna treat you right is yourself. Go to a coffee shop or cafe alone and have your favorite drink and dessert.

4. Movie Time
You could go to a cinema alone and have a quality time because you're alone, nobody could piss you off even more and you could pick any movie plus the popcorn is all yours. Or you could watch your favorite tv series. Re-watch Friends series many times and I'm sure you will feel better

I could give you more and more advice but it would be too long. But I was thinking, do you ever think that your style is depend with your mood? I feel like yes, I dress up depending on my mood. If I'm in a bad mood, I just go out with a sweater, black jeans, and sneakers. And when I'm really in the good mood, I spend more time to choose what I would wear before I go out. I remember the first day on January, I tried to dress up and it turns out a little bit different than the way I usually dress up.
Match my crop top collection with a vintage maxi in bloody red color. It surprise myself because I like it.

Crop Top - New Look
Vintage Maxi - Marks and Spencer
Studded Boots - H&M
