5 Songs To Battle With Your Anxiety

Mental health is a common issue. It could hit you anytime, anywhere, and that would bother you a lot. I've been struggling with Generalized Anxiety Disorder for years and there are sometimes that medicine couldn't help. But as time goes by, I could handle it pretty well. I used to have a worry journal where I always write and rate my anxiety from time to time, I talk more to my best friends about everything that worries me because being more open up to the people that we trust is the best thing to survive your anxiety attack.

But apart from it, music always helps me a lot. When I feel like giving up, life is too hard, or just a day to day anxiety attack, music always come first to soothe me. It's really easy to help you anywhere because you can just plug in your headphone and listen to it. I have 5 favorite songs that always help me through my days when the anxiety attack me. Hope it could help you get through your bad days as well.

1. In My Blood by Shawn Mendes

"Help me, it's like the walls are caving in. Sometimes I feel like giving up, no medicine is strong enough. Someone help me, I'm crawling in my skin. Sometimes I feel like giving up, but I just can't.
It isn't in my blood"

As Shawn Mendes mentioned it to Capital FM, "all pain is temporary, and the thing is with anxiety, and why it's such a hard thing for people who don't have it to understand, is that it is very random and it hits you at moments you don't expect it." That's true. Sometimes I went home with a bus and suddenly it hits me hard until I get nausea and one day it could hit me when I'm about to sleep. It's a different kind of struggle every day. I'm sure my mother didn't understand about my struggle with anxiety and I don't blame her for that because she doesn't have one. If you experience the same, don't worry. Go and call your friends, talk to them (a friend that you trust the most) and you will feel better. Don't forget to breathe and try to listen to this song.

2. Human by Krewella

"They say pain is an illusion, this is just a bruise and you are just confused but I am only human. I could use a hand sometimes, I am only human."

Feels like no one help you when you're having hard times could be one of a trigger for anxiety. I feel that way most of the time. I have more responsibilities in life if I compare it to some of my friend's life. But to be honest, compare your life to other people's lives is not a good habit, don't do that! That's why I feel this song really speaks about how I felt most of the times. Sometimes you will feel good when you know that you're not the only one who feels that way.

3. 26 by Paramore

"Hold onto hope if you got it, don't let it go for nobody. And they say that dreaming is free, but I wouldn't care
what it cost me."

When it comes to anxiety, sometimes you feel like you're giving up on your hope and your dreams. No worries, I've been there too. And when you need someone to reassure you that everything's going to be alright, 26 by Paramore would be one of perfect song for you. It's pretty hard for me to choose a song from After Laughter album for the best song to battle with your anxiety because most of the songs in this album could describe how hard life could be and how everyone has their own struggle on their life. But I will pick this one because sometimes when you struggle with anxiety, you also need a song to make you believe again in hope.

4. Performance by The XX

"You won't see my hurting when my heart it breaks. I'll put on a performance, I'll put on a brave face"

The first time I heard this song is when I have to leave my favorite job to another one. I have to leave because I have a better offer but I'm still afraid it wouldn't make me happy (FYI, the new job makes me happier). I watched The XX concert and cried during this song. But actually, when you need something to make you strong during your anxiety attack, this song could be a great choice. Remember, you don't need anyone's approval to chase your dreams. All you need is to believe in yourself and you will be alright. Hope anxiety won't bother you while you're working on your dreams

5. Superman (It's Not Easy) by Five For Fighting

"It may sound absurd, but don't be naive. Even heroes have the right to bleed. I may be disturbed, but won't you concede. Even heroes have the right to dream and it's not easy to be me"

Last but not least, let's get back to the past for a while. Superman (It's Not Easy) by Five For Fighting is one of my favorites for years. Have you ever feel like everyone is depending on you? or do you feel like you have so much pressure for everything? Yes, we all know that you're not a superman and I wish everyone could see it that way. This is one of the reasons why I really like this song. Go sing along with Five For Fighting and let people know that you're a regular person who could fail and do a wrong thing sometimes.

That's 5 songs to battle with your anxiety. Hope it will help you get through your bad days because all of these songs are always helping me. When an anxiety attack you out of nowhere, plug in your headphone and turn on these songs.

But how about you? Do you have any songs that you like to hear when you have an anxiety attack? or maybe do you have your own thing to help you get through it? I would love to hear it from you, drop a comment and let's help each other.

Oktobeer Feast 2016

Oktoberfest (German pronunciation: [ɔkˈtoːbɐˌfɛst]) is the world's largest Volksfest (beer festival and travelling funfair). Held annually in MunichBavariaGermany.

No, we're not going to Germany but we enjoyed Oktobeer Feast 2016 in Jakarta. This Pizza E Birra event held in Gandaria City with free flow beer, games, and music. We went to the second day of this event because we want to see one of our favorite band, Barasuara. Before I talk about how great their show, let's start with other fun part. We tried a lot of games, one of it is Giant Beer Pong. It's like a regular beer pong but instead of throw a ping pong ball, we throw a volley ball to some bucket. My team won and we just have to drink 2 glass of beer, yaaay for sport class that we took in high school.
From all the games that we've played, we won dining voucher and 4 International Beer. After we tasted it all, our favorite is Belgian Beer.

Let's move to the music, first band that we saw today is The Trees and The Wild which is remind me of high school memories even though their songs isn't sounds the same anymore, but I enjoyed it anyway. And then on 20.30 pm, it's time for Barasuara! They killed the stage as always and of course Iga Massardi didn't want any barricade between the stage and the audience, so BOOM SAH we move right in front of the stage (as always). Last performance goes to Mocca. Another flashback to my high school moment which I can't even remember how many years ago. Apparently my energy already as low as my phone battery so I watched them while I chill out on a bean bag which is really cozy!

So, this event was really fun! Good beer, great music, and amazing friends of course. The worst part is we have to deal with Monday on the next day. The combination between free flow beer, over excitement, and lack of sleep will definitely haunt us at the office on the next day. Before I leave you all, here's some fun moment that I took from my phone.

How To Survived We The Fest 2016: Day 2

I got tons of preparation for We The Fest, Day 2. As we already messed up our first day a little bit, this time my friends and I brought our own raincoat. We made a plan to go there at 2 PM so we could get through to the front row for The 1975. God knows how long until The 1975 set will be start it (They start to play at 9.35 PM).

So, our plan goes like:
1. Get there at 2 PM and buy food for dinner because we're going nowhere until The 1975 show (yes, we put it in our bag.. I order pizza anyway).
2. Save a bottle of water, we should stay hydrate to survive
3. Prepare our raincoat
4. Get Tolak Angin
5. Save energy, don't pass out before The 1975

That's our survival kit. As we approached the main stage area, the gate is about to open and as soon as we could get in, I ran. We've got the second row, not too satisfy but let's hope people in front of us wouldn't stay until The 1975 (Yes, God heard my prayer). Barasuara hit the stage and they are really great, more than I expected because this is my first time to see their live performance. Second band is Naif, yes I love them since I was in middle school so I sang along during their show. The best part is, they asked the audience about which song that they should play next. I was screaming Air dan Api and glad David heard it and played my favorite song. After a few songs, things that we hate the most a.k.a rain is started to pour. We all start to wear our raincoat!

Next band is Sheila On 7, bring back our childhood memories! We all sang along even though the rain started to pour pretty hard. After Sheila On 7, I decided to save my energy for The 1975 because there are 2 bands in a row before their show. And we started to worry that we're not going to survive until The 1975 because even though we wore our raincoat, our hair started to be really wet and our hands is getting colder. The riddiculous thing is we drank Tolak Angin in the middle of the crowd. Who cares what people think, we are survivor!

This time is for Breakbot. It's hard not to dance along their show, they set their stage perfectly. I started to look at the clock because I started to feel tired but no.. this can't be happening! After their set, we decide to eat. And as I said before, God listen to my prayer. A girl in front of me get out from the crowd and we exchange our place, yes! now the front row is mine and I hug the barricade as I ate my pizza. The Temper Trap started to play their songs and they are amazing. I almost forgot that I'm tired.

Finally, the day and the time that I've been waiting for years.. THE 1975! They opened their set with Love Me and guess what? I wave my hand to Matt Healy and he saw me and wave his hand as well to me while gave his gorgeous smile. If I were an ice cream, I would definitely melt by now. I prepare my makeup and all those important thing to make me looks good and when Matty saw me, my eyeliner was smudge, lipstick is gone, hair is wet, and I wore a raincoat. 100% sure that's not my best look but whatever.

Yes, I was that close to Matty and I sang along like crazy. It was one of my favorite concert that I ever saw. It's not enough only saw them in an hour, I want more.. I need to see their concert again ASAP. I feel really emo right now like drowning on my Post Concert Depression (I should've not write about this, sorry not sorry). They are really great, like REALLY great.

After The 1975, it's time for Mark Ronson. But I gave up my front row, I move to the back and dance on the back. I nailed my main goal to see The 1975 that close anyway. And Mark Ronson also gave a great performance! After all, We The Fest 2016 was super amazing. We all beat the rain and we woke up really early on Monday to work like a zombie. Glad we booked a hotel near the venue and FYI, I wore a hotel slipper to the office because my shoes are wet and full of mud after the show.

Before I go, I recorded The 1975 performance at WTF 2016. Unfortunately I can't record Love Me and Ugh because it was raining so hard and I couldn't get my phone out of my bag. But here's one of my favorite performance from them: If I Believe You. Check it out!

We The Fest 2016: Day 1

Summer Festival that we've been waiting for is here! To be honest I saved my energy on day 1 because my only goal for this festival is to see The 1975 on the second day. Anyway, it was a lot of fun. We saw Rich Chigga and he's kinda dope! It was raining so hard on the evening and we missed a lot of show.

While we are waiting for Macklemore, we watched CL and I didn't expect to enjoy it because I rarely listen to K-Pop but her show was amazing. And after all, the greatest performance of the day goes to Macklemore & Ryan Lewis. I have a goosebump during his performance, it was great and his stage act was unique. He's also really attractive with the fans and told about how he love Jakarta. The funniest thing is he throw us some donuts. If somebody successfully catch it, he will stay in Jakarta. Well, nobody could catch it.. The donuts land successfully to the ground, I guess.

AbsoluTEX: Tex Saverio 1st Couture Presentation

Last week, I had a chance to witness Tex Saverio launch first couture show: AbsoluTEX at Raffles Hotel, Jakarta. I could say that this is one of the best fashion show that I have ever seen. Thing I love the most from this fashion show that it's not just about clothes, it was the combination between fashion, art, and everything in between. It was a theatrical fashion show and I have a goosebumps during the show.

Tex Saverio presents his collection called Trism. The collection was divided into three segments: Purity (White with amazing details, perfect for bride), Passion (with complex embroidery in black), and Evolution (Futuristic design with white and gold palette). He close his show with sculpted metal gown that he meant to be wear by invisible Goddess and of course, standing ovation from 1.500 people who witness this amazing moment.

I was really amazed and almost cried when they started their second segements, Passion because the first segments, Purity feels like they brought us to heaven and Passion brought us to hell. It was extremely wonderful.

Unfortunately, the photos I took doesn't come out with a great quality because I was busy to recorded the whole show. Yes, the whole show because I need to capture every second of it. Last but not least, congratulations for Tex Saverio! He successfully turned fantasy into reality.

H&M x Coachella Collection: Get The Festival Fashion Looks

I'm always excited for H&M and Coachella collaboration because Coachella is one of the biggest music festival and it's always interesting to see the fashion festival looks. This is the time when you could combine between fashion and music!

There a lot of things that you could pick from this collection. For girls, you could find fringed tops, crop top, print jumpsuits, and many more. For boys, you could find shirts and denim shorts. It's hard to pick my favorite but I end up bought the printed jumpsuit and crop top!

The printed jumpsuit is really comfortable, I rarely wear this  kind of things but I want to try something new and I think I could mix the jumpsuit with a nice outer. It's easier to wear the crop top, I even wore it to my office. I combine it with a long outer and black Topshop pants. And if you want to wear it to a music festival, short pants will be a nice combination for the crop top. I'm glad I could bought H&M x Coachella collection right away because the collection sold out really fast. Not surprise at all because those are such a great collection.

Which one is your favorite piece from H&M x Coachella collection?

Steal Michael Clifford Style

Green Plaid // H&M
iPhone Case // Topshop
Watch // Juicy Couture

I just realize, I have a same green plaid shirt like Michael Clifford from 5 Seconds Of Summer. I decided to make this post and a little bit weird photos of my mirror selfie which I did at my office and Michael selfie which looks good. I bought this plaid shirt at H&M like 2 years ago, I guess. This is one of my favorite shirt because it's really comfy and it's so easy to style your plaid shirt. You could wear it as an outer or just wear it like Michael did. I wore size S and it's a little bit oversize on my body, sometimes I like to to bundle it just to get a different kind of style when I wear this shirt.

After all, who wore it better? Michael Clifford or me? Obviously Michael, you're the winner!
